REDUCTION CO2

REDUCTION CO2

The main and general objective of the Goodway activity is to significantly contribute to the reduction of industrial emissions, with special focus of the global energy sector.

Our innovation allows a radical change in the emission reduction technologies for industrial use. It is complimentary to all existing alternative technologies and its implementation can reduce the emissions by 8-18% depending on the type of fuel

Stopping the climate changes and air pollution are one of the most important challenges which humanity needs to face today. For both issues the extraction and burning fossil fuels is the main cause . If input of greenhouse gases continues to rise at the present level, the rising of Earth’s temperature is estimated between 1,5 to 5,5oC by 2050. It will melt the polar ice sheets and glaciers resulting in further rise in sea level by 0.18-0.59 meters by 2099 . Furthermore, climate changes are already putting pressure on ecosystems, the plants and animals that co-exist climate zones, both on lands and in the oceans. Main cause of global warming is carbon dioxide (CO2) emission, responsible for ca. 80% of all greenhouse gases in European Union . Approximately, ca. 30 billion tons of anthropogenic CO2 is emitted yearly .

This led EU to define a set of priorities for environment protection, including 2030 climate and energy framework , which set the objective for EU countries to reduce the greenhouse gases emission by at least 40% by 2030, and, as a long-term goal – at least 80% by 2050 (in comparison with year 1990).

The Paris Agreement sets out a global action plan to put the world on track to avoid dangerous climate change global by keeping the increase in global average temperature to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and to aim to limit the increase to 1.5°C, since this would significantly reduce risks and the impacts of climate change. Moreover, according to EU analysis from 28-11-2018 – A Clean Planet for all, A European long-term strategic vision for prosperous, modern, competitive and climate neutral economy , the European Commission is going to implement an actions, which make Europe neutral for climate by 2050, and 25% of EU budget for years 2021-2027 will be destined for climate goals.

European Environment Agency’s prognoses, that objective of the 2030 climate and energy framework will not be achieved, and the emissions will be reduced only by ca. 30% .
